The first assignment in my HS photo class was to 'make a common object interesting' - I relished the challenge - it was integral in teaching me to see photographically and to appreciate the not-so-commonplace or unusual.  

My urban textures portfolio focuses on the non-traditional beauty of our cityscapes - taking a fine look at the textures and colors of the doors / walls / graffiti / litter that has become the background noise of our everyday.
